“It is spirituality that has always united the people.” — National Leader Heydar Aliyev

On May 9, in honor of Victory Day over Fascism, and May 10 — the Memorial Day of the unforgettable National Leader Heydar Aliyev, a special event was organized. The event was carried out with the informational support of the “Innovative Progress and Support to Socio-Economic Development” Public Union and organized by the “Art and Creativity Club” training center.
The event was officially opened with the wise words of National Leader Heydar Aliyev:
“The people have always been united by spirituality. Because moral foundations are superior to others. A people with a high culture will always move forward, always live, and always develop.”
These noble words set the spirit of our event, creating an atmosphere of moral unity, national identity, and creative energy among the participants.
The event began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and independence of Azerbaijan, including those who perished in the victorious 44-day Karabakh War.
The event was officially opened with speeches by the Chairperson of the Public Union, Saida Musayeva, and the founder of the “Art and Creativity Club” training center, Jamala Nakhchivani.
Many prominent public figures, creative individuals, and representatives of civil society took part in the event dedicated to this significant day.
Among the honorary guests were: renowned geologist and writer Eldar Akhadov — a member of the Union of Azerbaijani Writers and the Russian Union of Surveyors, author of numerous scientific and literary works, and the person who named two rivers he discovered in Siberia; Laman Agalarova, representative of the National NGO Forum; Saadat Bayramova, chairperson of the “Assistance to Patients with Cystic Fibrosis” Public Union; Zeynab Hajiyeva, head of the “Chirag” Child Development Center Public Union; and active members of the “Innovative Progress and Support to Socio-Economic Development” Public Union.
As part of the event, an exhibition of paintings and handicrafts was organized, becoming an important platform for Azerbaijani youth and creative individuals to showcase their potential.
The exhibition featured the works of young artists and craftsmen from various regions of Azerbaijan.
The artworks presented both the heroic pages of our history and elements of our national and cultural heritage through a refined aesthetic expression.
The event participants — heads of non-governmental organizations, public figures, media representatives, and art enthusiasts — showed great interest in the exhibition and highly praised the showcased works.
They emphasized that such initiatives strengthen young people’s connection to national values and increase interest in history.
Speakers spoke about the invaluable contributions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the formation and strengthening of Azerbaijani statehood, noting that his ideas of national spirit and patriotism remain a moral foundation for our society today.
It was also highlighted that the Victory over fascism in 1945 holds historical significance for all humanity, and Azerbaijan’s contributions to this struggle must never be forgotten.
As part of the event, an engaging intellectual game was held for the participants. They actively demonstrated their knowledge, and winners were awarded prizes.
At the end of the event, letters of appreciation were presented to the young creative participants of the exhibition and the organizers. It was announced that such educational and spiritually significant events will continue.
This event once again demonstrated that activities aimed at preserving and promoting national and spiritual values, encouraging the creative development of youth, and keeping historical memory alive contribute to our society’s confident progress into the future.
